Wayne Meineke (American)
Lives and works in Minnesota and Arizona
Wayne Meineke crafts his paintings predominantly on location, rather than in an artist's studio. Direct observation of nature's colors and the effects of sunlight on the landscape create a discernible level of integrity in his work. HIs work is the result of learning to paint in partnership with the weather and with forces of nature. Some of his paintings take place in quiet peaceful gardens while others are created at the end of very strenuous hikes. The process of painting on location captures not just an image of a place, but the ambiance of the environment as well.
Wayne Meineke’s paintings have been in several group shows and gallery exhibitions that have been on major museum tours. The most prestigious is a group exhibition that is making a one-year tour of museum venues and at the Smithsonian. The work in the show represents scenes of United States National Parks.
