Mary Lingen's paintings are full of mood, light, and shadow. She captures a look that plein-air painters generally aim for, where colors shift as the hour/day/month passes.
About the Artist
When Mary Lingen first came into Dougas Flanders & Associates about a decade ago, the paintings that she showed us were like a breath of fresh air. They were small intimate and well-crafted. Her work reminded us of artists like Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser, yet she had a style that was her own and her work was excitingly new and unique. Some paintings had an almost digitally pixilated look to them while others reminded us of stained glass windows from medieval cathedrals and others of paint-by-number works from the ‘50s!
